Can I see the diesel bug in the tank?

Diesel problems

"Diesel bug" ("dieseldyr") is a term commonly used in Norway, while its real name is microbes. Microbes are either bacteria, fungi or yeasts of thousands of different varieties (with impressive Latin names). Microbes are not visible in themselves, but their waste products and the accumulation of microbes can often be seen as a slimy or dry mass in the tank. Most microbes are aerobic, meaning they need oxygen to live and reproduce. They always find this in water (H2O), which is the number one source of microbes in diesel.
